Portugal 2015 Day 38 to 42. Monday 14 to Saturday 18 of July 2015. Llanes Spain.

The last six nights were spent on the campsite a few minutesí walk to the East of Llanes.

I stayed here in 2010 and in 2012, I like Llanes very much and itís a very convenient place to stop being only a 50 mile motorway drive to Santander.

Llanes is about the size of Whitby but with as many restaurants as York! It has a thriving fishing industry, and is a very popular holiday resort. It is fairly quiet during the day since most people are on one of the many beaches, but almost exactly at 8 every evening it bursts into life with people of all ages. I enjoyed a first class meal in town most evenings: Four courses, a bottle of wine, water and coffee for 12.5 Euros!

The campsite entrance.

Looking back at the entrance from inside of the campsite.

The campsite is right on the edge of the cliff looking North out onto the Bay Of Bisque.

Three views of the beach just below the campsite. This is typical of many lovely beaches all around this area.

Itís just a few minutesí walk into town in this direction.

The town has a great maritime history.

Part of the harbour.

Looking back at the town from the harbour. The start of the Picos de Europa make a striking background.
